One gripe I have with electronic viewfinders is that they're usually low-resolution displays with slower response times. Also, their color rendition is typically not as good as LCD's. But Epson's newly developed EVF seeks to correct all the flaws, and the company states that this can even replace optical viewfinders. Read more

What is the best camera for new parents spending ~$500?

It seems like every review of a camera that costs less than $800 has some serious flaws (i.e. poor photo quality, slow for its class, "smeary" or "soft" images, poor image processing, long lag times, etc). We are about to become parents for the first time and are having an awful time trying to find the right camera for what seems like a healthy budget at $400-$500.  Read more
