I'm upgrading from a point & shoot and trying to cram a lot of info into my non-photographer's brain. Trying to build as good a jack-of-all-trades camera as I can (with room to grow if I want to get more and more "manual") that's not going to miss my ever-moving 4 year old because of the pregnant pause to snap a shot, or the inevitable dark exposure because it's a nighttime living room photo with average indoor lighting, let alone snapping a good shot of my 9 year old in the air on his dirt bike.
