You heard right: Google's Chrome Web Store open for business. The marketplace, similar to Google's Android Market and Apple's iPhone App Store, is designed for Chrome 8, which was released last week. It offers apps, as well as extensions and themes, for customizing the browser. Want to get inside the store? Be sure to check out our on-site video.

Also, there's nothing like a good deal to get us in the holiday spirit. From now until December 25, iCare Data Recovery 4.0 is available absolutely free. While most users never think about data-recovery software until they need it--like, say, after a corrupted hard drive has cost them years' worth of family photos--we know you'll want to make like the Boy Scouts and be prepared with this freebie.

Finally, we've rounded up five great video editors for Windows, since it's the perfect time of year to pick something up for the amateur shooter in your life. Better yet, pick up a program for yourself now, so you have time to throw something together for upcoming visits with loved ones.
